To support the effort for government rescue of many during the Depression, FDR sent the best photographers he could find out to show what was happening.
Dorothy Lange was one of them.
Her is perhaps her most famous photograph.
This is a migrant Mother with several children. I recall reading she had sold her car a few hours earlier. The look of desperation on her face is dramatic. Her older two children hide their faces rather than reveal to the camera.
Next time you read about someone in 'poverty/' in modern day San Antonio, remember this photo. Photo not posting will try later
