Here is an interesting look at the expanding social media and gadget business.
Do you Facebook ( like google or xerox, is the word facebook a verb now?)
Sound off I would like to hear how you use social media.

I do not do facebook. The only social media I use is email and maybe texting. I know I should get with the program and use all the technology there is to offer.

I too do not Facebook. I use the Internet only for e-mail, school and to surf for information (like; sports, news, and history). Maybe some day I will get a Fackbook account. I can not believe that Fackbook is free, but Facebook makes millions of dollars in profit, how can this be? This is very interesting!

Facebook with its visual content is a new form of television in either freeze frame or video ala you tube, now everyone can have their own tv studio and broadcast what they want, hence the big three continue to lose market share on tv
Twitter is a new form of radio, its short 140 character forces people to sound bites, but this is why it has caught on in revolts around the world. The old maxim for any dictator was to seize the radio station first, now everyone with a text phone has a radio station which is why mubarak shut the internet down in egypt, this is why revolt spread so fast in the soviet union in 1989 and across the mid east now, communication is vastly improved

I'm guilty of making Facebook a dominant media monster. I have a Facebook account and enjoy connecting with old friends. Yes, it is a great product. I'm not a frequent user, but I do spy on my friends from time to time and watch the YouTube videos posted. Must admit, it is good entertainment.
