For perspective, Lamborghini produced around 8000 cars in total during the first 30 years of its existence. Ferrari and Bentley have already broken into five figure sales volumes (with 13,221 and 15,147 sales respectively in 2022). For those millionaires in search of greater exclusivity, Aston Martin (6412 cars in 2022) and Rolls-Royce (6032 cars in 2023) remain rarer choices.
The firm began in 1963 to compete with Ferrari That they are selling more cars in one year than in the first 30 years all told, is a sign of a booming stock market not to mention vastly improved quality so that one can actually drive the car and expect to get where one is going.
But the same thing happened after 1929. Auburn Cord Dusenberg were compaarable then to Lambo and Ferrari, etc today.
ACD eventually went out of business then, will history repeat?
I bring this up as, surprise, San Antonio now has a stand alone Lamborghini dealer.
the Ferrari dealer here is now also stand alone, it was with Audi, Jaguar and Maserati, but they lost Maserati due to repair issues.
Without a lower priced model I would think this would require a very lively used car business of high end say 75-100K BMWs and such.
Hmm there are dealers in Houston, Dallas Austin and San Antonio, amazing for such a small market car.
