Weekend 3/2/2025
As a researcher in social mood I have to wonder if the exchange or lack of in the Oval Office this past week was a turn of the tidal wave event?
The usual sequence, photo op, nice comments, doors close for real meeting, then lunch and pressconference, were out the window.
We are at o r near a peak in stock markets. Positive mood raises stock markets, negative mood sells them, are we seeing a turn from positive to negative mood?
The NDX looks weaker. The NYSE Advance Decline is sideways with PMO falling. Let's see what happens.
WMT dropped 10% and then rebounds, Ford can't get a break, still falling. The Broncho and Mustang sell well as do the SUVs and F 150, is this a portrait of where America really is?
Oil disappoints, the inability to rally Friday after a strong Thursday was most disappointing, lack of demand, slowing economy?
I looked it up GM Ford and STLA are all below book value, STLA at 43%, F and GM more like 78%. As auto pmt delinquencies rise, is this the real canary in the coal mine?
