Markets have been unusually quiet today and yesterday. Perhaps this is apprehension prior to State of the Union Wed night. No doubt Dems think a high tax policy on capital gains, stick it to the rich, will play well with their base. But as Sen Rand Paul observed to Maria B this weekendd, investors will surely sell elevated portfolios this year rather than pay the high tax next, that in itself could cause a peak in stock prices.
Nothing going on in bonds, oil still above $60.
